Let's Share Links
I'm adding a link sharing feature! And maybe I'll post, too.

I love using RSS to stay up to date with my favorite writers and content creators. RSS is the optimal content algorithm — it only show me stuff I followed, with no distractions or ads!
On the other hand, it’s not very great at content exploration. Unless, of course, those sources share links that lead me outside of their own content. For example, two of my most-read sources do this routinely. Simon Willison frequently posts in his “Blogmarks” and “Quotes” feeds. Piccalilli has link posts and The Index. Reading these links often leads me to not only great content but new feeds to follow, as well.
So, I’ve just added a “Links” feature to my own site!
Speaking of my site, it turns out that it’s been a long time since I last posted. A small factor in this was the tiny friction of having to be on a specific computer to write, commit and push my code. I do most of my note taking, writing and thinking in Obsidian, though, and use SyncThing to use the same vault on all of my devices. Part of my latest site update switches to using Woodpecker CI on my own VPS where I was already syncing my Obsidian vault. This enables me to use a custom Astro build-time loader to load documents out of my vault for publishing!
Now I can create a post or share a link on this site directly from any of my devices, including my cell phone! We’ll see if the lowered friction actually helps, or if it was just a fun experiment.
